I love decorating. What I love even more… party decorating. The idea of taking a theme and going all out on decor makes my heart happy. I’ve only thrown a few parties (more like bridal/baby showers), but I didn’t skip a beat when it came to nailing the theme. It also helps that I make almost everything and even digitally design all the paper products from the invitations down to the food labels.

Time Doesn’t Stop for Anyone

And I’m no exception to it. They say it goes by way too fast and you really don’t know what it means until it happens. What they mean is that once one milestone happens, then they all start coming one right after the other. Which is totally fine, if I were ready for my baby to start growing up.

Books Fire Up the Soul

I remember growing up as a kid, we always had a ton of books. We used to read them all the time and it was something I tried to carry on, but haven’t really succeeded at. So I knew when it was time for me to have kids, I wanted them to have a love for books.

When There Are So Many Options

Becoming a parent is a huge step into adulthood. You know you need to take care of this child you just brought into the world and you’ve googled every “MUST NEED” list for babies out there. You’re so overwhelmed, you don’t know what to buy, what works, what doesn’t work. You’ve got friends who said there’s a product that saved their life with their baby. But you never know until you buy all the things and try all the things. 

In The Blink Of An Eye

…your baby is getting bigger and growing up way too darn fast. It’s not even fair. You try to remember what they were like 6 months ago and you can’t. You barely even know what you did last week.

Patience is a Virtue

If you ever thought you had the most bountiful amount of patience… Have a baby. They will test it beyond belief without even knowing it. They also test your sanity (which I believe goes hand in hand with patience). They make you question everything you do and didn’t do.

I Don’t Wanna Grow Up…

…I’m a Toys R Us kid! Am I the only one sad about the ending of an era? And the fact that my child will never understand the greatness of what used to be toy heaven? No? Okay then. Guess it’s a good thing she’s so little and doesn’t have to worry about it.

They Forgot to Give Me the Manual

Sure, there are plenty of books on how to change a diaper, when to feed solids, or how to give your baby a bath. Sure, Dr. Google can basically help you find anything wrong and Mr. Google has thousands of results of when your baby should start crawling. And oh, the unsolicited advice on every.single.aspect of raising an infant. But none of them prepare you for the real life.

From a Small Seed, a Mighty Trunk May Grow

And it feels like I’m watering and nurturing that seed too much. Watching a little human grow right before my eyes and seeing her blossom into a crazy girl. Feeing joy with every tiny milestone she reaches. And love exploding with all the gummy smiles.

Little Girls Make the World Go ‘Round

Giving birth to a baby is a monumental moment. Giving birth to a baby girl is even more momentous. You start digging deep and searching for all those morals and beliefs that you want to instill in your little one. You want to let her know that she is beautiful, strong and fierce.
