Five weeks pass. Fourth of July weekend. Midwest… Again. Except this time to another tiny town in Iowa about 100 miles west of Des Moines. A quaint, quiet little town by the name of Shelby. Surrounded by the never ending rolling hills of corn. Literally, it was corn as far as the eye could see. Continue reading
Flying… I’m becoming a pro at it after all the trips I’ve made. This time I was flying at night, from Reno to Salt Lake then to Omaha with an hour and a half car ride up to Sloan, IA. I was beyond excited. It was a long weekend for me and I got to spend time with my boyfriend in a place we both have never been before. Continue reading
I’ve fully come to the conclusion that I’m a sucker for photographing inanimate objects. There is something so intriguing about where I find these items and how they got there. Plus, they don’t move, so it’s kind of hard to screw up a photo and blame it on the object (although we all have done it because we’re pros and nothing is our fault). Continue reading
Family photos are slightly intimidating. You have to know how to pose all the members of the family. You have to remember their names so you’re not saying, “Hey you, move to the left.” You have to keep the attention of them all focused at your camera. It’s definitely a lot to handle when you’re only used to photographing your best friend, her husband and their one baby.
But when you hear the number three as in three kids, you kind of start to go into freak out mode. I searched the internet high and low (okay, mainly Pinterest, but no one needs to know that) for poses that incorporated three children. I saved a bunch of photos and studied them, preparing myself for the day of my photo session. My boyfriend kept asking me if I was nervous as the session got closer, of course I told him I was okay. But I was really just worried that things wouldn’t go as smoothly as I had planned. Continue reading
Clear, blue skies. Mild, fall temperature. Just me, my babe and the George. Camera in hand, ready to explore and yet again, practice.
I have been missing the motivation and dedication that I used to have when it comes to photographing. I used to go out all the time, constantly snapping photos of anything and everything. Well, not anymore. I mean, what’s the point in having this nice, awesome camera if I just let in sit dormant in the camera bag? There is none. Continue reading
I absolutely am a sucker for anything outdoors, so when my parents asked me if I wanted to go for a drive up to Lake Tahoe and see the salmon at Taylor Creek, I didn’t hesitate. I wanted the opportunity to play with my camera; understand the settings, lighting and my abilities to grow with it. Continue reading
Oh, this family I absolutely adore. Cutest family ever! And I’ve had the pleasure of photographing them and little miss Taytum a number of times. It’s been a blast every time, even those days when Taytum was being a diva. Haha
This family session happened one year and one day after the first session I ever did with them. It was great to see how the family has grown, along with my photography skills. Continue reading
Weddings, oh weddings. I love them, yet I hate them. Do I know why? Nope. It’s just the way I am. However, one thing does ring true…
I love love.
I’m your Sensitive Sally, your Emotional Emily, your Crying Christine. I’m a blubbering fool at any wedding I attend. And this wedding was no different. I about lost it when the bride came down the aisle and the groom’s eyes started to tear up. Rough stuff, I tell ya. Continue reading
